Telehouse Opens London Data Centre

Telehouse is making a big announcement. “Telehouse West” had it’s official opening on Wedsneday, March 31st, 2010. The facility costed an amazing 80 million British pounds to build. That’s roughly 120 million US dollars.

Michelle Reid, Sales and Marketing Director of Telehouse, announced:

“In a recent survey of UK decisionmakers from some of the country’s top organizations, 89% stated they were keen to secure additional datacenter space. This trend is supported by many analysts who have stated that a lack of capacity in the capital is costing the UK economy millions.”

With the opening, TelehouseWest is offering a new datacentre to support UK business operations with connectivity to over 400 internetserviceproviders (ISPs), carriers, and operators. In this new facility, there are four redundant HV power systems that have achieved reliability levels of 99.999%.

MichelleReid also stated:

“Telehouse West offers UK businesses access to the latest services, including KDDI’s global network infrastructure and range of end-to-end services including system integration, network services and ICT consultancy. Businesses will also be able to access a highly secure, resilient connection between the company’s network of global data centre facilities, including London, Paris, NewYork and LosAngeles, through the Global InterLink service.”

This latest expansion comes on the heels of two other expansions. Telehouse has also expanded into South Africa and Vietnam. Telehouse’s global data center “footprint” is roughly 120,000m².
