HostV Announces New Virtual Private Servers for Developers

HostV has just declared available a brand new line of VPS servers. The VPS (VirtualPrivateServers) servers start at the low price of $29.99 USD per month. The DEV-VPS plans also comes with the option of choosing between a 32-bit or 64-bit platform. There are also a number of operating systems available, including Fedora Core 9, Fedora 11, Fedora 12, Centos 4, Centos 5, Debian, and Ubuntu 9.10. Virtuozzo 4 is also available.

John Xie, President of Cirtex Corporation, HostV’s parent company, stated:

“It is important to be responsive to the needs of our customers and to the market as a whole. There is an increasing segment of hosting users seeking no-fills, bare-bones virtual servers that put all the focus on infrastructure and little focus on management, including end-user hosting control panels. We modeled these developer plans on that need. There’s a broad range of uses for these new plans, from administrators needing a virtual server to create a Openfire XMPP Jabber Server or Voice server, to a developer looking to for a testing environment.”

Perhaps even more enticing, managed hosting has only a small uptick in price at $39.99 monthly and offers a terrabyte of data transfer. With free data backups and Ksplice Uptrack, which makes it possible for linux servers to update without rebooting, the VPS servers are extremely convenient.
