Symantec To Partner With Adgregate Markets

Security firm Symantec and social commerce firm Adgregate Markets are getting ‎together as partners to offer SSL certificates and the VeriSign Trust Seal. This facility is ‎available only to customers of ShopFans, a Facebook e-commerce stores application ‎within the social networking platform.‎

ShopFans, is a native Facebook Platform application that enables brands to tie up directly ‎with all the infrastructure provided in the Facebook. Almost 92 percent of marketing ‎personnel are keen to market their products through Facebook based applications, and a ‎recent report also found 71 percent of users willing to purchase after getting a suitable ‎deal.‎

The need to protect both the retailers and their Facebook fans was an important concern. ‎Hence both Symantec and Adgregate came together to offer them security using their ‎web based security expertise. The combined total online annual sales at ShopFans was ‎worth over $8.5 billion. ‎

Facebook had become very popular and had a huge following and a platform for ‎commerce was but inevitable, but security and trust were essential to convert fans into ‎customers – and to keep them returning for more. Adgregate, had an impeccable vision ‎for social commerce in taking the Facebook forward in a totally different direction. The ‎VeriSign Trust seal enabled on the Facebook stores targeting ShopFans would convert ‎more browsers into buyers by offering them trust, and security. The VeriSign Trust Seal ‎would confirm the identity of the site operator as independently authenticated by ‎Symantec. ‎
