Sony Committed To 3D With a Slew Of New Products
Sony is into three dimensional projection systems in a big way, and is creating a niche in the 3D space with their new and significant products. Sony’s goal in their 3D strategy for the year 2011 is to make 3D viewing personal.
Well, here is the list for the connoisseurs of art, all from Sony:
- Many More Sony Pictures films in 3D, remember ‘ The Green Hornet’
- A 24-hour 3D TV channel along with Discovery and Imax
- Higher volume of PS3 based games in 3D
- 3D cameras including camcoders
- Unique 3D TV models
- 3D Blu-ray multi purpose players
Sony content is being viewed in over 50 million TVs in the US alone, over Internet-connected Sony TVor a PS3/Blu-ray player connected to a third-party TV. This represents the already existing market space for Sony’s products and shows in the US. A good percentage of them moving to the 3D content format would augur well for the company’s challenging efforts.
Many companies are changing their 3D outlook following a down-slide in 2010 for the new formats, but Sony is committed to taking a leap in this exciting shift, which looks promising in the years to come.
