Sentry42 Planning New Gatehouse Data Center
UK co-location firm Sentry42 is planning to open their new Gatehouse data center. The facility, located adjacent to Norwich, near London, has a massive 60,000 square foot Data Center space, to overcome the data crunch situation that had developed in UK.
Sentry42 is a co-location business managed by Data Center Consultant Migration Solutions. Migration Solutions had undertaken the $20 million renovation of the facility, occupied and used earlier by an insurance firm. The company would also take over the management of the facility.
The company was delighted with the rapid progress of The Gatehouse from an initial idea to a ready made business-facility. Customers demand state-of-the-art environmentally sound design without any comprise on reliability or security. The Gatehouse fulfills these expectations.
The facilities provided at Gatehouse include 5.4MW diverse power, N+1 power redundancy, and stand by generators capable of operating continuously for eight days at full load.
The company has complied with the EU Code of Conduct for Data Center Energy Efficiency and the guidelines set up by The Green Grid. As part of green requirements, the facility has free cooling chillers that provide 8,343 hours of free cooling per year, non-ozone-depleting air handling units, and LED lighting.
The Gatehouse has access to multiple Telecom providers to manage Telco Interchange Rooms including Virgin Media, Cable & Wireless and BT.
