Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Sales crosses 1M Mark
Sales of Samsung’s Android based 7” touchscreen Galaxy Tab Tablet, outside the US touched the 1 million mark just after two months of its release in November. That this was achieved in spite of Apple’s iPad Tablet with a bigger 9.7 inches screen crossed the 1 million mark within a month of its release in May showcases the demand for such products world wide. The area wise figures are yet to be revealed by Samsung and their four U.S. based wireless carriers, although the feat has been acknowledged by Samsung.
The craze for the Apple’s 9.7 inch iPad Tablet has not however subsided, and it has already sold more than 8 million iPads this Thanksgiving Season, thus proving that it would continue to be the market leader for years to come in this segment.
However, this is no mean achievement for Samsung and Google, as the Android based OS has a found a niche in the U.S. market and most of the U.S. based Carriers have successfully promoted Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphones in the U.S.
The latest survey carried out by ComScore, released on Friday, and proves the point. 24.2% of the 30,000 people surveyed confirmed having a Samsung mobile device, in the U.S. alone.
