R1Soft Releases CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition

R1Soft, a Data protection software developer has released CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition. ‎This is a flagship product of the Company which forms one of the many lines of backup ‎software required for hosting and Cloud infrastructure.‎

This follows the release of their CDP Server 3.0 Standard Edition a year ago, which had ‎offered various end users high-performance CDP backups from a single server without ‎having to use a dedicated backup server.‎

CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition comes with disk-based backup storage facilities and ‎capabilities. The relatively new 3.0 Disk Safe is used on-disk journaling to protect ‎available archived backup data from being corrupted as a result of crashes and power ‎outages in the data center. This unique capability can only be found on R1Soft based ‎softwares only. ‎

It may be noted that the new Disk Safe is very well suited for the growing storage ‎demands of data centers. The Disk Safe disk was capable of storing up to 64TB of backup ‎data and offered numerous recovery points for every protected server.‎

A form of asynchronous data replication is used in the R1Soft’s CDP backup software ‎which can significantly shorten the time frame of backup windows.‎

The software also features new file and folder excludes, thereby permitting users to ‎exclude individual files and individual folders from the block-level replication process. Since the new Disk Safe uses the latest disk I/O versions in 2.6 Linux and 2008 R2 ‎Windows servers, CDP 3.0 BMR is found to be significantly faster than previous ‎versions. Additional features to be incorporated in the software would be communicated ‎to their clients in due course for up-gradation.‎
