Public Interest Registry .ORG Registers 9 Million Domains & More

More than nine million .ORG domain names have been registered so far at The Public ‎Interest Registry. .ORG saw an increase of 10.3 percent in 2010, thus enabling it to ‎become the third largest generic Top Level Domain of the world.

Reaching the 9 million registration mark was by itself a great testament to both .ORG’s ‎reputation and their close relationship with their Internet community. .ORG remains a ‎truly committed community-driven platform for their clients and has become the domain ‎of choice for many varied organizations, noted individuals, and reputed entities to ‎channelize their zeal toward a collective purpose with their community. Cute has taken over ‎charge as the CEO of the Company recently.‎

.ORG was founded in 1985, and continues to be the most trusted domain of choice for ‎many non-profit oriented organizations, associations, and multinational corporations ‎involved in social cause marketing, open source software development and communities ‎promoting art and culture.‎

The Public Interest Registry is located in Reston, Virginia and was established by the ‎Internet Society in the year 2002.‎
