Public Interest Registry .ORG Registers 9 Million Domains & More
More than nine million .ORG domain names have been registered so far at The Public Interest Registry. .ORG saw an increase of 10.3 percent in 2010, thus enabling it to become the third largest generic Top Level Domain of the world.
Reaching the 9 million registration mark was by itself a great testament to both .ORG’s reputation and their close relationship with their Internet community. .ORG remains a truly committed community-driven platform for their clients and has become the domain of choice for many varied organizations, noted individuals, and reputed entities to channelize their zeal toward a collective purpose with their community. Cute has taken over charge as the CEO of the Company recently.
.ORG was founded in 1985, and continues to be the most trusted domain of choice for many non-profit oriented organizations, associations, and multinational corporations involved in social cause marketing, open source software development and communities promoting art and culture.
The Public Interest Registry is located in Reston, Virginia and was established by the Internet Society in the year 2002.
