NEXUS S – The next Android Smartphone
Google has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Nexus S and what’s more, the internet search mogul has also introduced the latest version of the android operating system along with this new product. The Nexus S therefore becomes the first smartphone to run on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The smartphone is very similar to the Galaxy S and is a slab-styled phone.
Equipped with a 1 GHz processor, the phone brings in very unique features. The phone appears to be really sleek, with the contours neatly cut away to fit into the palm of the hand nicely. The hummingbird processor has been used to power the device. A 5-Megapixel rear end camera and a VGA front-facing camera are present. The smartphone also has 16 GB of storage space and has the capability to render high definition video at a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels. The gingerbread OS however is its most sought after feature. The OS supports near-field communications, has built-in VoIP calling, is designed to give greater speeds and is good at managing power. Faster speed and power management mean extended multimedia recording and playback, a feature lacking in present day smartphones. Certainly bound to make heads turn, this one!!
