NBA, MLB Games Available On Apple TV
A software update for Apple TV enables one to view live and archived U.S. NBA and MLB games. The Apple TV update version 4.2 also connects to the 5.1 Dolby audio to Netflix streaming.
The National Basketball Association’s (NBA) feature “League Pass Broadband” is available at $64.95 a year, which allows an enthusiast to follow seven teams. The $99.95 option allows one to watch games from all 30 teams, and allows one to watch as many as 40 games a week during the season. The only glitch is a location-based blackout limitation, by which the enthusiast can access his subscription in the state or zip code in which it was purchased.
The other option concerns Major League Baseball’s “MLB.TV” streaming package, which is available on Roku and PlayStation 3, and is priced at $19.99/month or $99.99/year for the Standard package; $24.99/month or $119.99 a year for the Premium package. Premium packages enable one to choose home or away team video broadcasts, DVR functionality, and split-screen viewing.
Apple has also released iOS 4.3 which updates AirPlay, allowing viewers the facility to wirelessly transfer photo slide-shows from mobile devices to Apple TV, and vice versa. The update has fortunately fixed the vulnerabilities in FreeType. FreeType could execute codes while processing an affected font.
