Nanotechnology to cut car emission levels
Stringent emission control norms by various Governments towards greener technologies, is pushing car manufacturers to adopt innovative changes in technology. Nanotechnology is the new fad that is attracting their search to reduce pollution levels and improve car performance. Nanotechnology offers a platform to replace expensive platinum in fuel cells leading to cheaper and reduced pollution level applications in the near future.
Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel has developed NanoLub, an indigenous lubricant. NanoLub is found to reduce wear and tear in car engines in more efficient ways. This has become possible because of the unique structure of NanoLub, with constituent particles appearing to be nested in spherical arrangement.
Car manufacturers today are exploring the possibilities of developing car engines with zero emissions. Nanotechnology offers hope in that direction, according to researchers and scientists around the world. The use of nanotechnology to achieve zero-emission levels in the near future has the inherent ability transform modern lives.
