Microsoft IE9 To Be Released on March 14
Finally, the latest version from Microsoft, the Internet Explorer 9 would be made available from March the 14th. This was a very anticipated event.
Microsoft has gone for a minimalist look, just providing a simple URL/Search bar, thus leaving more space for browsing related activities. A built in download manager, incorporated for the first time, would enable the user to pin sites and bookmarks on the task-bar provided on the Windows. Hardware acceleration has been enabled for viewing the HTML5 based video systems. The new version also features ActiveX filtering and other security related features.
The Company has displayed very few selective features only in their display version, there are other new applications too, about which they are tight lipped, so as to create a sense of surprise and to raise their level of expectation and curiosity. The consumer interest in the product has reached new levels and they are curious to know whether the competitive momentum would be maintained in the days to come. The version would be released officially at the South by Southwest Conferences and Festivals at Austin, Texas on March 14th. and made available for downloading soon thereafter.
