Google’s New Android Market Apps

An interesting application in the Android market and a sequel to Kindle Books is the ‎newly rolled out web based Book Section, offering free books and retail e-books. This can ‎be accessed on the PC or in the Google Apps for Android in iOS platforms. Clicking on ‎the Books Link will lead you further to other interesting sub-sites depending on your taste ‎and choice. What stands out is the ease of navigation between well demarcated ‎categories like Science Fiction and Fantasies etc. e-Book prices have been pegged a wee ‎bit lower than other providers for obvious reasons.‎

The book section is lodged at the top-right of the Android Market, in between the Android ‎Apps shortcut and the store’s search field. Since Books are easily available at other ‎places also, this is not a breakthrough achievement but a commonplace occurrence.‎

The next application being targeted by Google for the Android market relates to bringing ‎music and video in their systems. The Xoom tablet provided both music and video ‎services. A new tool bar is also being appended to provide social networking services as ‎per indications received from Google, to take on Facebook. The navigation is consistent ‎and is likely to be a visual update. It is obvious that Google is taking measured steps to ‎take on their competitors squarely.‎
