Google’s Android debuts for a Viewsonic Device at CES

Google’s Android OS is making waves in the Viewsonic brand devices using ‎Android 2.2, codenamed Froyo.‎

The Viewsonic’s Viewpad 10S displayed at CES is different from Viewsonic10, known ‎previously as the 100, fixing the 10’s shortcomings like the lack of 3G.‎The 10S consists of an Nvidia Tegra 250 Cortex-A9 1GHz processor and supports Flash ‎‎10.1 while the 10 had an Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz chip. The 10 had WiFi but no 3G, ‎which the 10S has. Non-3G version of the 10S is also available. Both models have a ‎‎1024×600 LCD display but the 1.3MP camera is a disappointment. The 10S pricing is to ‎be confirmed later and Viewsonic will continue to sell the 10 model.‎

The Viewpad 4 tablet, an entirely new product sporting a 4.1-inch WVGA capacitive ‎touchscreen display. Like other smartphones it has a Qualcomm chip, the MSM 8255 ‎‎1GHz processor, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS and A-GPS functionality, a front ‎facing camera, is Flash 10.1 compatible and has a 5MP auto-focus camera. The device ‎can record HD 720p video for upload or playback with the handset’s HDMI display ‎output. Like the 10S model, the ViewPad 4 pricing is to be confirmed later.
