Google On A Pathbreaking Spree
Google has decided to take on board a slew of software experts, product managers, user-interface specialists and others who thrive on developing new ideas for mobile applications, and also encourage current employees to change jobs to promote their new approach to work.
Handheld devices have revolutionized the marketplace with a host of new applications that are both convenient and affordable. Moreover, smart-phones have created a niche market for various end use applications and there seems to be no limit for newer and smarter applications. Google has sensed an opportunity here to expand their markets, specifically with reference to the Operating Systems developed by their peers to create an edge over their competitors and deluge the market with new applications and offerings.
Revenue from mobile applications has grown by leaps and bounds and is expected to triple this year to reach $15.1 billion. Paid downloads and revenue from advertising space generated by a host of free applications, are contributing to this unprecedented growth. Introducing more and better applications in devices specifically operating on Google’s operating systems would contribute to gain new insights in creating niche products, combined with a continuing stream of revenue through multiple channels, to take on new challenges and make competition obsolete.
