Ford Displays New All Electric Focus At CES

Ford has displayed their all-electric Focus Car at the CES. The car is actually Ford’s second electric version, the first electric version was the Transit Connect utility vehicle.
The Focus is still undergoing EPA testing, but it would go up to 100 miles, using a 23 kilowatt-hour liquid cooled lithium-ion battery pack with a top speed of 84 mph.
The recharge time from empty to full takes 3 to 4 hours which is lower than that offered by Nissan Leaf. Ford has to make available a 240 volt charging station, with installation through Best Buy. Ford’s MyFord Touch dashboard interface is designed specifically for electric vehicles, aong with an app called MyFord Mobile that allows owners to set charging times and remotely unlock doors. The dashboard displays an increasing count of butterflies as the car is driven more efficiently.
The Ford Focus Electric would be available in November of 2011, and will compete with the Mitsubishi iMiev and the Nissan Leaf
