Equinix To Use Recycled Newater

Web hosting provider Equinix would be using recycled Newater in their new Data Center ‎coming up in Singapore. Newater refers to the treated and purified water, made by ‎deploying advanced dual-membranes and ultraviolet technologies.‎

The SG2 IBX data center is currently being expanded, with an investment of $43 million, ‎in tune with the company’s third phase expansion policy, within their facility in ‎Singapore. The first data center occupied 158,950 square feet and the second occupied ‎‎94,545 square feet space. Once completed in June, the effort would add 850 new cabinet ‎equivalents.‎

Besides using recycled Newater to cool the Data Center, energy-saving blue LED lights, ‎motion sensors etc would be used to control the lighting automatically. The National ‎Environment Agency would supply the Newater, for the first time to cool a Data ‎Center.‎
