EcomNets, ServInt are Nominated at the “NVTC Green Awards”

The Northern Virginia Technology Council regularly awards technology companies, universities, and organizations for excellence in implementing environmental policies. This is the second year that the Northern Virginia Technology Council has held it’s “N.V.T.C. Green Awards.”

ServInt Chief Executive Officer Reed Caldwell, said:
“In just two years, the NVTC Green Awards has become one of the region’s most prestigious awards programs, recognizing excellence in environmental stewardship. We are honored to be nominated for this year’s award [...] Through our Green Hosting Initiative, we help ourselves, our customers and the planet.”

There are two NVTC Green Awards that go out each year. One to any large company, university, or organization above 50 million in revenue, and a second to smaller entities. There are seven entities nominated for the small company award. ServInt is one of the seven entities.

For those large institutions earning above 50 million in revenue, the nominees are:

Verizon
Hewlett-Packard (HP)
ICF International
The Brookings Institution
CGI
Inova Health System
Neustar
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)
Freddie Mac
Noblis

The nominees for the small company section (under 50 million revenue) are:

ServInt
TeleTrips Inc.
Acumen Advisors
Ecomnets
Vectronix, Inc.
Vesper Wind
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

SevInt is relatively unique in the nominees in that it offers web hosting solutions for businesses, whereas Ecomnets is a IT infrastructure solutions provider that focuses on “green solutions” (with a more roll-up-your-sleeves approach than the typical RECs purchasing crowd) that includes manufacturing more energy efficient hardware.
