CornerStone Telephone Acquires ActiveHost

Telecommunications provider CornerStone Telephone has acquired Web hosting and ‎data center provider ActiveHost, this being sixth acquisition to date. The specific details ‎of the financial deal were not disclosed. CornerStone would make two more acquisitions ‎shortly, with one deal establishing the company’s entry in the New York City area.‎

CornerStone has provided 50,000 access lines for phone, VoIP, Internet security, ‎business telephone and cloud computing systems throughout Eastern US, that includes ‎Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York. With ActiveHost, CornerStone has ‎expanded their portfolio services to include dedicated servers, co-location, virtual private ‎servers and hosting services.

With their customers looking for diverse set of end products ‎to operate their enterprises, CornerStone was looking to expand their geographic reach in ‎new markets, build solid networked infrastructure and deploy leading edge technologies ‎to support their services. As a result, the company’s revenue grew to $45 million in 2011, ‎an $8 million to $9 million increase over last year.

Alexander Finn has been named ‎CornerStone’s executive director of data center services. CornerStone currently has 103 ‎employees in their various offices.‎
