Barnes and Noble introduces Ebook Reader
Barnes and Noble, the famous bookstore has introduced its new Ebook reader – Nook. Amazon’s Kindle is supposed to have revolutionized the ebook reader front but Nook Color with its trendy features and neat presentation has added a new dimension to it. The ebook reader is equipped with a 7 inch full color display adds to its cache of good features. Its innovative design allows people to view and read a variety of things – magazines, text books, newspapers, and children’s books, giving the user a complete digital reading experience.
Barnes and Noble’s software division has concentrated upon children as well. Nook Color comes with Alive Touch Technology allowing text and content to be delivered in an enriched, stimulating manner with a great deal of user interactivity. Alive Touch allows kids to touch, drag and drop words and pictures from within the current story, allowing greater interaction. It also has a custom application called ReadToMe using which children can form their own stories using the pictures and words assimilated. The system reads the generated story with the help of this application.
Nook Color comes with a built in music player as well, allowing users to listen to music whilst reading a book or a novel in the ebook reader. Users can listen to radio as well, using the app that allows them to tune in to the popular internet radio channel Pandora’s Internet Radio.
