Adobe’s Flash Player Gaining Ground

Even as Apple failed to perceive the benefit of using the Flash Player in their mobile devices, ‎Adobe Systems see a huge potential for Flash based products in the near future.

Adobe expects a stupendous 600% growth in the smart-phones market having built in Flash 10.1 Player installed in various mobile devices during 2011, equivalent to the sale of almost 132 million ‎smart-phones and from the contribution of over 50 tablet models which could carry the ‎application. During the six months following the launch of Flash 10.1, as many as 20 ‎million smart-phones have been shipped that later carried the application.

Flash 10.1 Player is being used in Android, BlackBerry Tablet OS and Hewlett Packard’s ‎WebOS, among others. Adobe also has showcased Flash Player 10.2, containing new ‎features like Stage Video to display improved video scenes on mobile devices, desktops ‎and TVs.‎

The most popular smart-phone in the U.S. having the Flash application, belonged to the ‎Droid family, like the Droid X or the HTC Evo. Although Flash is not necessary to access ‎the web, devices carrying the flash were found to be more enjoyable.‎
