A List Of Priorities For NASA To Implement

A wish list in an order of priorities has been prepared by a group of well wishers and ‎Scientists, to be pursued by NASA for the decade 2013-2022, keeping in mind the ‎resources to be made available, the best possible option to deliver maximum benefit per ‎dollar spent, small scaled missions targeting new frontiers, budget related constraints, new ‎projects etc taking into consideration all available inputs on successful missions and ‎agendas carrying better potential to be pursued immediately and those that could be ‎delayed for later consideration. ‎

A few of the priorities in order were:‎

Mars Astrobiology Explorer Cacher: To determine whether Mars supports life and ‎gather geologic and climatic data, as a Long term large scale mission, to be pursued ‎jointly with European Space Agency, within a budget estimate of $2.5 billion.‎

Explore Jupiter’s icy moon Europa: Again to verify if the solar system ever supported life ‎elsewhere. A certain diversity of phenomena observed ‎is a clue to earthly processes, and further studies had the potential to offer more clarity.‎

Fly to Uranus: This was the next long term mission, to be pursued within the budgetary ‎constraints. This unexplored planet had a lot to offer to expand our knowledge base of ‎our universe.‎

Under the smaller New Frontiers program, two space missions could be conducted to ‎explore the solar system. These could lead to a better understanding of what to pursue on ‎the basis of retrieved data, made available through these missions.‎
